Flower Festival 2008
May 3 & 4
11:00am

Segway rides . . . good food . . . the music of Downtime. . . . There’s a blossoming of special events and activities at the 2008 Flower Festival, so drop by Christ Church Cathedral, 1210 Locust St., on Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4. Sponsored by the Diocese of Missouri, Missouri Botanical Garden and Christ Church Cathedral - and presented in partnership with the Central Library’s “Central Goes International!” - Flower Festival celebrates nature’s beautiful abundance and our responsibility as stewards of the planet. On Saturday, environmental activist Bonnie Anderson speaks at the 11am Worship Service. At 12:30pm, enjoy food, arts and crafts, and family fun at the annual Street Fair, which takes place rain or shine. At 7:30 that evening, the renowned Collegium Vocale performs. Except for food and goods sold by vendors, Saturday events are free. The last day of Flower Festival begins with Sunday’s regular schedule of worship services at 8:00, 9:00, 9:30 and 11:15am; Bonnie Anderson is the guest speaker at 9:00 and 11:15am. There are classical music concerts at the Cathedral at 2:30pm, and at 5:00pm. Flower Festival concludes with Choral Evensong, under the direction of organist and choirmaster William “Pat” Partridge.
